In a statement given through press release, Tomislav Perkovic, Chief Product Officer at Gameforge had this to say about the title. Today it was announced that Blueside, the developers behind Kingdom Under Fire, have partnered with Gameforge, developers of AION, TERA, to finally commercially launch the game here in the west! Kingdom Under Fire 2 is slated to release later this year on PC through various distribution platforms. with all versions seemingly cancelled, it looked like this was going to be the end of the story for the troubled sequel, that is until today. ![]() ![]() A Russian Beta ran from 2017 to just this past March before being closed as well. 2017 also marked the announcement of the Russian version of the game. Another series of beta’s began in 2014 before being shut down in 2017. Finally in 2013 it was announced that a PS4 version was going to be made with a 2014 release date. A beta version released in 2011 for Korea players. After the 2008 announcement the game went from being an Xbox 360/ PC game to having a PS3 version announced. Well as you are all aware it is now 2019 and Kingdom Under Fire 2 never materialized, well at least not in the west. When Kingdom Under Fire 2 was announced in 2008 I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait for the next proper entry in the series. ![]() The game did well enough to get a prequel in 2005 and a less than successful RPG outing in 2008. Throw in the RPG elements of upgrading your units between missions and it was a combination that really couldn’t be beat. The combination of real-time strategy and hack n slash gameplay was a fantastic blend I thoroughly enjoyed. Kingdom Under Fire for the Xbox was one of my most played games on the system.

The xServe(s), behind a router or on a public IP, would provide the services/security needed by their contact to the outside world these in turn would "collect" filesystems from a LAN of (lower-cost) clustered "server/storage" blocks that could be added at will. Yes, at the outset it was a blast - my idea was to divide the service between two levels: secure "head" servers serving files from clustered "disk-exporting" servers. My only goal is to have the posix-compliant filesystems on the subservers to be accessible/readable from the "head" xServe in a "mirrored" fashion.Īgain, thank you for your insightful input. I do have a shared write system set up, but this is on a secondary "background" level (hierarchy-locked accounts are managed by crushFTP from the Leopard xServe). I may one day like to replicate/distribute services/payload, but that will be a later secondary development. Should I also mention that the subservers are in amd64 Debian Etch - but this is a moot point here. It's not about the services the servers will provide it's the storage space they mount. I would like either to write to two (mirrored) mounts simultaniously (glusterfs-ish) or write to an active node "master" server that would then replicate to its twin. I'll definitely look into the I/O angle, more SAN than NAS though - perhaps I should provide a bit more detail?īasically each server I want to cluster is directly SATA2-connected to two 12-terra xfs-formatted RAID 5 blocks. I have total control over the whole network, so no host support. At the least, can you tell me whether I'm seeking the impossible? Yep, I'm shooting in the dark here for any suggestions at all. The only other solution I can think of is having two Linux servers syncing between them, and having only one of them exporting to leopard as an NFS mount. There is no macFuse-xfs port to my knowledge.ĭRBD was another possibility, but I don't see how this could be transformed/exported as an NFS mount (thus being readable by Leopard). Glusterfs (using macFuse) is the closest I have come to a solution, but unfortunately this means that the destination storage (behind the Linux servers) must be read/writable by a Leopard that only "understands" a limited amount of filesystems - xfs not being one of them. Yet I am becoming increasingly persuaded that this is not possible - and even confirmation that it isn't would be quite helpful. What I would like to do is have a cluster (of two Linux servers) appear as a single (shared) NFS mount in the Leopard xServe. My problem probably lies between my own misunderstanding of clusters and Leopard's file sharing capabilities. Implementing this stuff on Mac OS X Server would be a blast. (I've heard this most recently as a primary and some number of secondary or standby servers, depending on how this is running.) And that then gets into distributed coordination some form of lock management. ![]() The concept of "head" and "subserver" is an interesting one that's a simple idea that tends to get ugly in a distributed configuration, particularly when random failures are inserted or expected. The next step up the stack here involves MySQL or another other similar database-level replication mechanism. Shared write and full failover and such gets a little more involved. There are some similar approaches here search for rsync. The lower-end approach toward this (eg: cheap, inelegant, manually assembled and often sufficiently functional) is something akin to rsync. (The Promise NAS gear may well be able to do this. Xsan and Xgrid is the closest to this with the Apple gear, unless you go outboard with a NAS or SAN controller. ![]() Intelligent virtual SAN controllers (and a few NAS controllers) can deal with (most of) this replication underneath the view of the host operating system. The difference between SAN and NAS is centrally one of bit error rates SAN gear has lower bit error rates and higher speeds, and NAS has higher error rates and lower speeds. The difference here is that it's RAID1 across multiple hosts and controllers, targeting up to three disks. With OpenVMS, this is known as host-based volume shadowing. NET assembly.I've done exactly this with OpenVMS clusters (fully distributed shared-write within disks and within files), but I've not seen this implemented with other boxes. The Effects are a new addition in Timeless 3, and give a Drive saturation, Lo-Fi distortion, a Diffuse control that blurs the delay output to add a reverb-like quality, a Dynamics gate/comp, and a Pitch shifter that transposes the delay signal +/- 12 semitones for up to a full octave. ![]() Each filter can be augmented in other ways, like Q, pan, and slope adjustments like clean, tube, or metal. Above these knobs is a filter display that allows for creation of up to six filters with selectable high/low shelf, high/low/band pass, bell, or notch, with slopes between -6dB and -48dB/octave. The last knob is for wet/dry and output panning, plus a delay mix and stereo width. The Feedback/Pan knob controls the total delay feedback and where the feedback is panned, and the Cross Feedback Mix sets the amount of crossover between channels. Around the main delay knob are additional freeze, ping-pong, sync, and read mode controls. This first pan controls the relative length of the pan, so at dead center both channels are delayed the same percentage of the tail length, and setting it left or right increases the length of those tails respectively while shortening the other. Although this may sound like a somewhat obscure academic concept, we all have experiences that reinforce the idea that words have power. Discursive approaches focus on the use of language as a source of power. Research tells us that power is exercised more subtly at the micro-level through discourse and meaning-making. All of its growth is in the direction of the prevailing wind. These all enable an organisation to wield power over others.Ī photograph of a tree where the growth has been influenced by strong wind. In other words, in the context of inter-organisational collaboration, the macro-level power of an organisation is associated with its control of resources that others need its importance to the strategic purposes of other organisations and its position in the structures of collaboration. This contrasts with macro-level power, which is based on resources, importance and structural position (Huxham and Beech, 2008). Micro-level power is seen in day-to-day activities, in ‘points of power’ which are played out in relationships between people as they collaborate. Huxham and Beech (2008) refer to power at this relational level as ‘micro-level power’. Participants suggested that, even where they are well aware of the greater resources, influence, importance or position of the organisations with which they collaborate, they still believe they are able to make a difference, and they focus this belief on the relational aspects of collaboration. In Carol’s research, she noted a contrast between this public performance of collaboration and informal backstage discussions. It is perhaps for this reason that we have observed that many collaborative partnership meetings seem to avoid surfacing these asymmetries, and instead proceed as if power is shared equally, or as if ‘partnership’ in some way negates power. You have the basics of exponents when we're dealing with 10, and I know what you were thinking.5 Influence, meaning-making and micro-level powerįor many of us, working with power asymmetry is not comfortable. So 10 times 10 times 10 times 10 times 10. We're going to take five 10s and multiply them together. Up to you on the street and say what is 10 to the fifth power? What is that? What number that you're probably familiar with would this be? Well this would mean that Well as you might have imagined, we were taking 10 10s and Write it using exponents? Pause the video and figure that out. Number here, 10 billion? What's a way that we could If you ever saw 10 to the third power, that means hey, let me We would read this asġ0 to the third power. Might have imagined, we're taking a certain number of 10s and we see we're taking three 10s and we're multiplying them together. Times 10 times 10 or 1000? How would you write that using exponents? Pause this video and see So 10 to the second power is 10 times 10 is equal to 100. Some of the parts of this, the two would be called the exponent and the 10 would be the base. That looks fancy, but all that means is let's take two 10s and multiply them together and we're going to get 100. Multiplying them together, I could write this as 10 to the second power. And so 10 times 10, we can rewrite as being equal to, if I have two 10s and I'm So the way they do this is through something known as exponents. To write things like this a little bit more elegantly. So mathematicians haveĬome up with a notation and some ideas to be able Kinda hard to write, and imagine if we have 30 10s that we were multiplying together. This right over here is 10 billion, and it's already getting We put the commas there so it's just a little bit easier to read. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. It's going to be oneįollowed by 10 zeroes. This is going to be equal to, even the number that it's equal to is going to be quite hard to write. Let's see, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. That's four, that's five, that's six, that's seven, that's eight, that's nine, that is 10 10s. ![]() So if I were to go 10 times 10 times 10 times 10, But at some point, if I'mĭoing this with enough 10s, it gets pretty hard to write. Multiply them together, so 10 times 10, which In this video, I'm going to introduce you to a new type of mathematical notation that will seem fancy at first, but hopefully you'llĪppreciate is pretty useful and also pretty straightforward.
